The usual nite... nite for guard duty. "God-dam bloody fella.." i cursed under breath. I was activated for guard duty on this Thursday nite.(i was the reserve guard for the nite).

Supposed to go havoc with my frens, and i found myself doing guard duty. Cursing and swearing, i proceed to the guard room and chatted with the rest of the guards and guard commander. Out of the blue, my guard commander said:"Eh.. ask driver go buy those chinese hell paper with characters and play oujia board leh.. buy supper as well"

"The storeroom have what.. leftover from 7th lunar month..use that lor", 1 of the guards said. Bored and restless, we decided to play the game for fun. In less than 5 mins, the paper was laid on the table and we rested our fingers on the inverted mini saucer(those u put soya-sauce type). We use a red marker to draw an arrow on it.

There were 8 of us there and 4 of us playing. The rest were watching in amusement, anticipating some actions. I was 1 of the lookers.."Don't play cheat hor.. what shall we ask?" 1 of them said. "Invite the spirit first mah.." my guard commander said. By the way, my camp is a pre-war british building.(pretty old and run down)

"All spirits here/passing by, listen up, please do join us in the game" my guardcommander said. We waited for 5 mins and were getting bored when the saucer starts moving in a slow but forceful circular motion...! We look at one another. We knew it could not be pushed as we just rested our fingers lightly on the saucer.

"Identify urself.." my buddy said smiling. I dun feel good by now... it seems ominous.. strange feeling in my heart. The saucer moved forcefully to the chinese character "nu" then to the word "ren" which means woman. "Oooh la la...hahahaha" The rest of the guys watching were laughing and poking fun.

"Are you an Ah lian huh? You like to go sparks or not?" one of the player asked. The saucer did not move this time. "Stupid question la!! Who is the most handsome among us?" one of the players asked. The saucer moved to the character "Chen" which means surname Tan and the only Tan is my guardcommander. (he is infact the handsome 1) "Woa..!!!!" we exclaimed. "don't play cheat leh..!!!" we shouted, having good fun.

"why are you here in the first place huh?" my guard com asked. The saucer moved to the word "bao" thne "chou".... which means revenge in chinese. I felt my hair stand at this moment! The flourescent light started flickering.... we all went silent.... don't know what else to ask.. the guard dog outside started howling like mad..!

A heavy blood-thirsty presence hangs in the air... they stopped the game by removing their fingers immediately and all went back to normal but strange was the arrow on the saucer rested on the word "blood" after the lites stopped flickering.

We dimissed it.. but guess what.. out of the 8 of us..
1 got into a motorbike accident..(warded in SGH)
1 fractured his wrist..(fell down a flight of stairs)
1 fell sick for 2 weeks..(high fever)
1 was almost crushed by forklift in camp...
1 was beaten up by gangsters(mistaken identity)..
1 cut himself badly at work( stitches needed )...
1 fell into a drain and cut his face badly..(in camp)

all these happened within 1 week of the incident.

We were thankful our lives remain unscathed.
