It appears that the "store" I work in is having some "ghostly" events...

The store is in an old carriage house on an estate that is one of the two oldest homes in Marshfield, MA.

Monday, it was raining and we had no customers, so I said,"I know there is at least one ghost here, so let's see just what you can do! Let the games begin!!"

I immediately left the room (for no reason) and came back a few minutes later to see a hanging display swinging wildly!! WOW, I thought, this is neat!!! No one was around, and no customers were on the property!

I mentioned this to my friend Carole, who works there the days I don't, and she said she hadn't wanted to mention her experiences to anyone! Just recently when she was on the phone to the other store, she heard someone come in the back "locked door", go into what is now the bathroom, close the door, open the door, and leave by the back door. She also heard bells ringing like the ones on the front door! There are no bells in the backroom. She mentioned it to the person on the phone, because the only people with keys to the door were all in different towns.

This has happened to her more than once, and I have "heard" people come in the back door too.

This morning, Carole heard a loud (static sound--like tv not on channel) comming from the upstairs room, then silence. She was terrified, then the bulb exploded in the upstairs room and there was some smoke that smelled funny.

We have gone through 7 different kinds of bulbs in the last week or so.

This is a beautiful estate called "Twin Brooks". The original owners put a tremendous amount of time and care in the plantings and buildings. The new owners are taking about a quarter of the yard now to build a pool, tennis court, and garage. In doing this, they are cutting down the beautiful selection of trees and plants.
