In 1841, William Henry Harrison gave the longest presidential inaugural address on record. It was delivered out of doors on a very cold, rainy, windy day. Harrison caught a very bad cold. He suffered for weeks, half the time in bed, half the time trying to receive Whig office seekers. His cold developed into pneumonia and on April 4, 1841, one month after giving his inaugural, he died.
