I'm not blaming you Dear Jesus
Nor asking why you took Daddy from me
You were so good to him Heavenly Father,
Now from this world he is free
Free from all troubles and trials,
From all sorrow, sickness and pain
Free from the world's tribulations
Earth's sorrows are now heaven's gain
I'm not blaming you at all Dear Jesus
For we came not into this world to stay
Our bible tells us that man born of woman
Is full of trouble but for a few days
You were merciful and kind, Thou his keeper
We should not ask you for any more
To let him stay with us any longer
He was tired and weary at 104
Yet I recall when we lived here together
I think of fond memories of days gone by
Seeing him in his vegetable garden
Or in his garage in order to slip out of sight
Or maybe tinkering with some old battered vessel
Making it look like it was almost new
Sing in La Mott's Senior Choir
Doing odd jobs for the neighbors too
Playing his accordion or another instrument
Which ever came first to entertain you
Oh no I don't blame you Dear Jesus
You did what you just had to do
Oh no I don't blame you Heavenly Father
I knew that some day we would have to part
but I loved him so very much Dear Jesus
He possessed such a large space in my heart
But that Sunday morning when you took him
To that Celestial City so fair
Death is never a welcomed stranger
And loved ones are not usually prepared
I'm so glad I was there at the parting
I saw when he stepped on board
I saw Jesus standing on the banks of the river
And Daddy saying Good morning Dear Lord
I'm sure when he saw my mother
And my brother as a new day was dawning
And all the love one who had gone on before
He said to mother Marcella and Leroy are coming
So Mama and Daddy we won't disappoint you
Just keep the porch light on in your home
It may be in the afternoon or evening
Like you two it might be early one morn.
